Our Materials
What we use & how we label it
We strive to use only high quality materials for our creations! Which is why we are completely transparent about the materials we use. Each individual piece will be detailed in our product descriptions.
Please consider our finished products are often mixed materials (what is often described as demi-fine)- for example I may attach a fine silver pendant to a sterling silver chain. This will always be detailed clearly in the item description. Please also consider that whilst we may mix materials we will never compromise on quality and will ONLY use high quality (anti-tarnish) metals such as silver and gold!
Material descriptions
Sterling silver
is a durable metal alloy containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals (typically copper).
Fine Silver
is the purest commercial form of the metal, composed of 99.9% pure silver and (0.1% trace elements (usually copper).
Gold Vermeil
is thick layer of real gold plated over a solid sterling or fine silver base. The Gold plating must be over 2.5 microns to be classified as Gold Vermeil- this is significantly thicker than regular gold plating making it more durable.
Gold Filled
is a high-quality jewellery material made by mechanically bonding a thick layer of real gold to a base metal core (usually brass) using heat and pressure. By law, gold-filled items must contain at least 5% (or 1/20) gold by weight, making it highly resistant to tarnishing, flaking, and peeling
9kt Gold
is a durable, budget-friendly alloy containing 37.5% pure gold mixed with 62.5% other metals like silver, copper, and zinc
Real Gemstones
I also use a range of genuine gemstone beads/components- all will be labelled accordingly
